Job Responsibilities
- Prepare the monthly financial close information for our Pakistani Joint Venture in a timely and high-quality manner, adhering to US GAAP. This includes reviewing journal entries, analyzing cost and P&L variances, and reviewing key metrics.
- Conduct monthly reconciliation of traders' estimates versus actuals.
- Prepare monthly management reports.
- Record incoming and outgoing invoices and bank transactions.
- Perform daily reconciliation of Pakistan JV bank accounts.
- Manage accounts receivables and payables, including reviewing reconciliations, allocating payments, following up on outstanding debts, managing credit limits and overdue accounts, and ensuring invoice posting to INPOSIA.
- Support the Credit and Collection team in Hamburg by providing information on customer credit risk.
- Record accruals for goods received not invoiced and services received not invoiced, including weekly reconciliations.
- Reconcile inventory balances against warehouse confirmations.
- Issue VAT invoices for all USD collections.
- Monitor and maintain FX positions.
- Monitor and manage the default risk of local customers.
- Finalize and analyze balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring compliance with SOPs as part of internal controls.
- Apply US GAAP standards and ADM policies, including fair value measurement (FAS 157, ASC820), inventory valuation, foreign currency, and intercompany transactions.
- Communicate regularly with local Commercial management and leadership of AG Services Global Trade.
- Serve as the contact person for internal and external audits, preparing reports and documentation as required.
- Support the tax team to ensure compliance with local reporting requirements (VAT, income tax, statutory filings).
The Candidate
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration with an emphasis on Controlling and/or Accounting.
- At least 6 years of relevant finance and accounting experience within an international organization.
- Experience working abroad is strongly preferred.
- Strong technical accounting skills in Local GAAP and US GAAP.
- Excellent analytical, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills in Urdu and English, with the ability to interface across intercultural levels.
- Ability to meet demanding deadlines without compromising quality.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Positive, proactive attitude.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
