Job summary

VEON is seeking a Director of M&A to lead end-to-end transactions across its global portfolio, including acquisitions, divestitures and mergers in frontier markets. Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer, you will drive strategic analyses, identify opportunities, and manage execution with internal and external stakeholders.

You will shape VEON’s growth journey by partnering with business leaders, navigating multi-jurisdictional environments, and delivering the Group DO1440 and AI1440 strategy

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in corporate finance, M&A, or consulting across international markets.
• Bachelor/Master’s degree in finance or related field.
• Experience in multi-jurisdiction frontier markets and global teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end M&A transactions across VEON Group, including acquisitions, divestitures, and mergers.
• Identify opportunities and manage all deal phases from origination to close.
• Engage with equity investors and internal stakeholders to influence and shape strategic outcomes.
• Collaborate with business leaders to align M&A activity with VEON’s 1440 growth agenda.
