With a focus on cutting-edge technology and exceptional user experiences, we are committed to simplifying payments and empowering businesses and individuals to thrive in the digital economy.

About the role

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Global Head of Tax to lead the global tax function for a rapidly expanding fintech and digital payments group. The ideal candidate will oversee direct, indirect, and international tax matters—including structuring, compliance, and transfer pricing—while optimizing the group’s global tax position in line with business goals. This role requires a deep understanding of multi-jurisdictional tax frameworks and the ability to provide strategic guidance to senior leadership, regulators, and external advisors.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and execute the group’s global tax strategy aligned with overall financial and business objectives.
  2. Identify and implement tax-efficient structures and transactions across jurisdictions.
  3. Advise on tax aspects of M&A, joint ventures, and group restructuring initiatives to minimize tax exposure and ensure compliance.
  4. Oversee corporate income tax compliance and reporting across all jurisdictions.
  5. Manage tax return preparation and timely filing while ensuring full compliance with local and international laws.
  6. Monitor changes in global tax legislation, assess business impacts, and recommend appropriate actions to leadership.
  7. Lead group-wide indirect tax strategy and compliance activities.
  8. Ensure accurate reporting and timely filings, identifying opportunities for savings or refunds where applicable.
  9. Support business operations by integrating indirect tax considerations into systems and processes.

International Tax

  1. Provide strategic direction on cross-border taxation, tax treaties, and global tax risks.
  2. Ensure adherence to BEPS (Base Erosion and Profit Shifting) actions and evolving international tax rules.
  3. Optimize global tax structures for repatriation, financing, and risk mitigation.
  4. Design and implement global transfer pricing policies in compliance with OECD guidelines and local regulations.
  5. Ensure appropriate pricing and documentation of intercompany transactions.
  6. Manage transfer pricing documentation and country-by-country reporting obligations.

Compliance & Risk Management

  1. Ensure full tax compliance across all business units and jurisdictions.
  2. Lead the response to tax audits, disputes, and inquiries from tax authorities.
  3. Oversee internal controls related to tax processes and ensure robust risk mitigation strategies.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, or a related field. A professional qualification such as CPA, CA, or Chartered Tax Advisor is strongly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in tax, with at least 5–7 years in a senior leadership role within a multinational environment or Big 4 advisory firm.
  • Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of direct and indirect tax, international tax planning, transfer pricing, and tax structuring across various jurisdictions.
  • Proven experience managing a global tax function and navigating complex regulatory landscapes.
