Job summary

Combuzz HR Solutions is seeking a Generator Field Service Engineer / Mechanical Technician to support inspection, maintenance and overhaul of large turbo-generators (≈200 MW and above).

The role requires 3–5 years of hands-on field experience, a mechanical engineering degree (Diploma or Bachelor's), and proficiency in reading drawings, with exposure to multiple cooling technologies. International travel and strict safety practices apply.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years hands-on field experience with large turbo-generators (≥200 MW).
• Experience in generator assembly/disassembly, rotor handling, inspections and overhauls.
• Experience with at least two generator cooling technologies: air-cooled, hydrogen-cooled, or water-cooled.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and perform critical clearance measurements.
• Experience with major OEMs in the power-gen sector.
• Strong English communication and willingness to travel internationally.

Responsibilities

• Perform generator assembly, disassembly, overhauls and inspections.
• Handle rotor removal, installation, lifting and alignment activities.
• Inspect rotors, stators, bearings, seals, coolers and related components.
• Measure air gaps, bearing clearances and shaft alignment.
• Work with air-, hydrogen-, and water-cooled generator systems.
• Identify defects and recommend repairs.
• Support outages, rehabilitation and troubleshooting projects.
• Follow OEM procedures and site safety standards.
