Job summary

DeveEnergy seeks an experienced Controls Outage Engineer (Field Engineer/Technical Advisor) to serve as the on-site authority for turbine control systems during outages, inspections, installations and commissioning worldwide.

You will independently manage controls scope on customer sites, troubleshoot and validate control systems, and act as the direct technical liaison with client operations and instrumentation teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, electronics, instrumentation or controls engineering (8+ years).
• Direct field experience with GE Mark V, Mark VI and/or Mark VIe during outages, installation or commissioning.
• Extensive travel and ability to mobilize on short notice; GCC/intl visas possible.
• Ability to read P&IDs, elevation drawings, logic & loop diagrams, and OEM documentation.
• Experience with turbine auxiliary and protection systems (lube oil, hydraulic, fuel gas/liquid skids, fire & gas, vibration monitoring).

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead controls resource during outages and major inspections for GE heavy-duty gas turbines and associated equipment.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve faults in turbine control and protection systems; manage sequencing and HMI issues.
• Configure and back up control system application code; support software/firmware updates.
• Review P&IDs and OEM docs to plan controls scope and execution.
• Inspect and validate turbine auxiliary and protection systems; ensure safety and quality.
• Lead pre-outage readiness and post-outage startup, commissioning, and performance verification.
• Contribute to modification and uprate planning; document as-built records and technical basis.
• Act as on-site technical liaison with client operations and controls personnel within HSE framework.
• Produce field service reports and inspection documentation; support cost estimation and proposals.
• Mentor engineers on controls fundamentals during outages.
• Maintain compliance with HSE, permit-to-work and QA procedures.
