Role Overview
The Global Financial Controller is responsible for driving financial excellence across all international entities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting, compliance with local and international financial regulations, and alignment with group-level financial objectives. This role supports global expansion by streamlining financial operations, overseeing local finance teams, and ensuring strong governance, consolidation, and reporting across countries.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Reporting
- Consolidate financial results across global entities (e.g., UAE, Bahrain, Egypt, Hungary, UK) and analyze performance against budgets.
- Oversee month-end and year-end close across all jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with IFRS and local GAAP.
- Prepare consolidated financial statements and group management reports.
- Ensure intercompany reconciliations, eliminations, and accurate group-level reporting.
Regulatory & Tax Compliance
- Monitor local statutory, tax, VAT, and audit requirements in all operating countries.
- Coordinate with local advisors, auditors, and tax consultants to ensure timely and compliant submissions.
- Ensure alignment with ESR, CbCR, FATCA, and other cross-border financial regulations where applicable.
Internal Controls & Risk Management
- Implement and monitor robust financial controls, including segregation of duties, payment authorization workflows, and risk mitigation.
- Support internal and external audits, and drive remediation of audit findings.
Cash Management & Treasury
- Monitor global cash flow, currency exposure, and liquidity requirements.
- Collaborate with treasury and local finance to ensure funding and working capital efficiency across markets.
- Oversee intercompany loan agreements, capital injections, and dividend repatriations.
System Implementation & Process Improvement
- Drive global finance system integration and ERP enhancements.
- Standardize global financial processes, reporting formats, and chart of accounts.
Team Coordination
- Act as the bridge between global HQ and local finance teams.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and performance management of regional finance staff.
- Provide training and ensure consistency in finance policies and procedures globally.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics; CA / CPA / ACCA or equivalent required.
- 8–12 years of progressive finance experience, including at least 3–5 years in a regional or global role.
- Experience in fintech/payments, banking, or financial services is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of IFRS and experience managing cross-border financial operations.
- Exposure to ERP systems (SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, Zoho, or similar) and reporting tools.
