Job summary

AEGIR-Marine is seeking a hands-on Service Engineer - Propulsion in Dubai to inspect, repair and overhaul marine propulsion equipment on ships and in workshops. You will diagnose complex mechanical and hydraulic issues, provide on-site support, and deliver clear technical reports while meeting tight schedules.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor in Marine Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 3–4 years of field service experience in marine maintenance and repair.
• At least 3 years overhauling CPPs, azimuth/tunnel thrusters or similar propulsion gear.
• Strong understanding of marine propulsion controls and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics fluently.
• Excellent English communication; willing to travel at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, repair, overhaul and commission propulsion equipment (CPP, FPP, gearboxes, thrusters, shafts).
• Diagnose faults, determine root causes, implement corrective actions and propose long-term solutions.
• Provide on-site and workshop support at customer sites and workshop in Dubai.
• Prepare service reports, risk assessments, inspection findings and repair recommendations.
• Coordinate with vessel owners, managers, classification societies, agents and subcontractors.
• Adhere to QHSE policies and ISO standards across all activities.
