Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking a Global Electrical Field Services Engineer to join the BRUSH Team. You will be responsible for commissioning, upgrading, and testing large electrical machines and control equipment at customer sites worldwide.

You will deliver training, interpret technical drawings, and participate in on-site meetings. The role requires 5+ years in electrical power systems, strong English, and the ability to travel ~29 weeks per year.

Qualifications

• Have 5+ years of experience in electrical power generation and distribution systems.
• Have knowledge of networking concepts such as Modbus, Ethernet, 61850; Fibre is advantageous.
• Knowledge of Health, Safety & Environment practices.
• Be an effective communicator, fluent in English (spoken and written).
• Must be able to travel overseas/offshore ~29 weeks per year.

Responsibilities

• Commissioning high‑voltage generators, motors, synchronous condensers, PMS, electrical protection systems, AVRs, and synchronising equipment.
• Upgrade AVRS, PMS, synchronisers, protection relays and related control elements.
• Carry out electrical testing on HV/LV equipment and machine windings in the field.
• Deliver training on Brush Power Gen products to clients and field service colleagues.
• Interpret drawings and technical requirements; attend on-site meetings with customers.
• Prepare method statements and risk assessments for client sites as needed.
• Support mechanical engineers on assignments as required.
