To carry out on-site installation, service, maintenance, alignment, cleaning, repair, and modification of large high voltage generators, motors, and sync condensers.

As a Global Field Service Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for :

1. Stripping down and rebuilding large generators and related equipment; fault finding and rectification; overhaul and cleaning.
2. Installing and commissioning large turbo-driven generators, sync condensers, and motors.
3. Carrying out mechanical alignment checks, basic electrical tests, and adjustments to machines and complex shaft systems using mechanical, optical, and laser-based systems.

And electrical test equipment.

1. Interpreting specifications and technical requirements; preparing method statements and detailed reports for customers. Attending technical meetings on site and at customer premises.
2. Undergoing training if necessary to assist winding specialists in in-situ winding repairs/rewinds.
3. Performing on-site risk assessments for each assignment and recording details accordingly.
4. The job description is not exhaustive; you may be required to undertake other duties as reasonably assigned by the company.

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role, you will:

1. Hold an accredited Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification or relevant experience, qualified through a recognized craft apprenticeship in fitting and assembly operations on large high voltage rotating electrical machines.
2. Have 5+ years of mechanical experience working on motors and generators.
3. Possess knowledge of health, safety, and environmental practices and procedures.
4. Be self-reliant, resourceful, and a problem solver with strong commercial awareness.
5. Be an effective communicator, fluent in both spoken and written English.
6. Be flexible to travel and undertake extensive overseas and offshore work, approximately 29 weeks per year.
7. Experience in dealing with external stakeholders on site and operating independently.
8. Be a good team player with the ability to work independently.
