Job summary

GiveDirectly seeks an accomplished technology leader to define the company’s technology vision and target stack for multi-billion-dollar operations. You will own the architectural direction and build a world-class team, expanding from 15 to 30+ engineers.

You’ll work with the CEO and VP Product as a member of the executive team, guiding strategy, cyber and infrastructure initiatives, and coordinating across countries with travel 4–6 times a year.

• Proven record of identifying, hiring, and developing engineering leaders.
• Ability to evaluate major designs and pressure-test architecture.
• Strong business judgment and decisiveness under ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Define technology vision and target stack for $5B+/year operations.
• Manage a diverse portfolio including cash delivery stacks, legacy migrations, and cybersecurity.
• Build and grow an exceptional technology organization from 15 to 30+ members.
• Own technical direction, quality bar, and architectural decisions.
• Serve as a member of the executive team and partner with the CEO and VP Product.
• Travel approximately 4-6 times per year to countries of operation.
