Job summary

Allocation Assist Middle East is seeking a Consultant Medical Oncologist with a focus on GI oncology in Dubai, UAE. The role centers on diagnosis, treatment planning, and long-term management of GI cancers, including colorectal, gastric, esophageal, pancreatic, and hepatobiliary malignancies.

The consultant will work within a multidisciplinary cancer care team, contributing to evidence-based systemic therapies and ongoing patient follow-up across disease stages.

Qualifications

• MBBS, MD, or equivalent medical degree.
• Recognized specialist or consultant qualification in Medical Oncology.
• Subspecialty experience or fellowship training in Gastrointestinal Oncology is highly desirable.
• Valid DOH Department of Health - Abu Dhabi license or eligibility, or eligibility to obtain one.
• Significant post-specialization experience in medical oncology.
• Substantial clinical exposure to gastrointestinal malignancies is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of modern systemic cancer therapies and multidisciplinary oncology care.
• Excellent communication, clinical decision-making, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical oncology consultation, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up for patients with cancer.
• Manage colorectal, gastric, esophageal, pancreatic, hepatobiliary, and other gastrointestinal malignancies.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on tumor biology, stage, molecular profile, and current clinical evidence.
• Deliver and oversee systemic cancer treatments including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and hormonal therapy where appropriate.
• Evaluate treatment response and modify management plans according to clinical findings and disease progression.
• Identify and manage treatment-related toxicities and complications.
• Collaborate with GI surgeons, radiation oncologists, gastroenterologists, radiologists, pathologists, and other specialists.
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and coordinated cancer treatment planning.
• Recommend appropriate genetic and molecular testing for eligible patients with GI cancers.
• Support clinical pathways for early-stage, locally advanced, metastatic, and recurrent gastrointestinal cancers.
• Maintain accurate medical records and uphold high standards of patient safety and quality care.
• Participate in clinical research, teaching, audit, and quality-improvement initiatives.
