Job Summary:

The General Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the hotel's facilities, equipment, and systems are operating efficiently and safely. This role supports the engineering and operations team in providing a safe, comfortable, and high-quality environment for guests and staff.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities to identify maintenance needs.

  • Perform general repairs including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and HVAC.

  • Respond promptly to guest service requests and reported issues.

  • Carry out preventative maintenance programs as scheduled.

  • Monitor and report any unsafe conditions or malfunctioning equipment.

  • Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition.

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely resolution of maintenance issues.

  • Assist with setup and breakdown for events or hotel functions as needed.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas.

  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures at all times.

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training preferred.

  • Minimum of 1–2 years of maintenance or repair experience in a hotel or similar environment.

  • Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Physically able to lift, carry, and perform tasks that require manual labor.

  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.

  • Certification in electrical or mechanical maintenance is a plus.
