Job Title: General Manager – Plastic Plant

Department: Manufacturing / Operations
Reports To: Managing Director / CEO
Location: RAK, UAE

Salary – 10-12 k AED

Job Summary:

The General Manager of the Plastic Plant is responsible for overseeing the complete operations of the plastic manufacturing unit, including production planning, process optimization, quality control, maintenance, manpower management, and cost control. The GM ensures that production targets are met in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner while maintaining high-quality standards and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic & Operational Leadership:

  • Lead the plant operations to meet daily, monthly, and annual production targets.
  • Develop and execute short- and long-term strategies for operational efficiency.
  • Monitor KPIs and implement performance improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure alignment of plant operations with company goals.

Production & Process Management:

  • Oversee daily plastic can/blow/injection molding operations.
  • Plan and allocate resources to meet production schedules.
  • Ensure optimal utilization of raw materials, machinery, and manpower.
  • Drive lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.

Quality & Compliance:

  • Ensure strict adherence to quality standards (ISO, customer specs, etc.).
  • Coordinate with QC and R&D teams for defect reduction and product improvement.
  • Maintain compliance with local environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Maintenance & Equipment:

  • Supervise preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Ensure machine uptime and reduce downtime.
  • Approve capital equipment purchases and upgrades.

Cost Control & Budgeting:

  • Manage plant budgets, monitor operating costs, and control waste.
  • Optimize cost efficiency in production and procurement.
  • Prepare CAPEX and OPEX proposals as needed.

Team Management:

  • Lead and develop production, maintenance, and store teams.
  • Set performance targets, conduct appraisals, and enforce discipline.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and safety.

Cross-Functional Coordination:

  • Liaise with procurement, logistics, quality, R&D, and sales departments.
  • Ensure timely availability of raw materials and dispatch of finished goods.
  • Work closely with management to align plant goals with business strategy.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Production/Polymer Engineering; MBA/CIEPET preferred.
  • Experience: 10–15 years in plastic manufacturing (blow/injection molding), with 5+ years in a senior management or GM role.
  • Skills:
    • In-depth knowledge of plastic molding technologies and plant operations.
    • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
