About the Role:
Dow Jones is growing and expanding its footprint in the Gulf Region. To support this exciting period of growth, we are seeking a dynamic and results-driven General Manager (GM) to lead our regional growth strategy, drive business growth, and expand our market presence. You will be responsible for P&L ownership, revenue generation, client relationship management, and team leadership across the Gulf Region. We are looking for a dynamic and experienced business development leader with deep market knowledge, strong commercial acumen, proven relationships, and a track record of scaling business in the region. You will report to the Global Chief Revenue Officer.
You Will:
- Serve as a regional General Manager in support of all of Dow Jones's commercial activities across our portfolio.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive growth strategy across the Gulf, identifying and capitalizing on market opportunities, expanding the company's visibility and footprint in key sectors.
- Scale Dow Jones's presence based on a deep knowledge of the regional market. You credibly represent our brand, build relationships of trust, and our partners rely on you and your team to make informed decisions.
- Spearhead cross-Dow Jones deals that encompass media event sponsorship, corporate subscriptions, C-suite memberships, and Business Intelligence and Energy products and services.
- Identify strategic partnerships across both business and government alliances and distribution channels to accelerate growth.
- Drive new business development while strengthening existing customer relationships with C-suite execs, key clients, distributors, and strategic partners.
- Navigate regulatory, legal, and cultural dynamics to ensure compliance and operational success.
- Work cross-functionally with marketing, operations, and finance teams to ensure seamless collaboration.
- Establish a results-oriented culture with clear KPIs, accountability, and performance-driven incentives.
- As an extension of the Dow Jones Global leadership team, you will be comfortable advocating for the region and all employees locally to grow our culture and support the rollout of company initiatives for the region.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and managing new commercial and operational hires in the region, leading, mentoring, and developing them into a high-performing team in the context of the current Dow Jones organizational structure.
- Represent us at industry events, trade shows, and networking forums.
- Demonstrated ability to work in and manage ambiguity, dealing with issues that do not always have a process or a system in place.
- You are comfortable communicating openly and transparently, assuming good intent when working with our business, our team, and our partners. With courage, you can speak up and be honest even when it's hard.
- Work with the VP People EMEA/APAC to drive people programs, engagement, and our values, infusing them in all we do.
- Support the facilitation of regional visits from the CEO and their executive team, working cross-collaboratively to plan the strategy for their visits with an inclusive mindset.
You Have:
- 15 years of sales experience.
- 5 years of management experience.
- Deep expertise in the region, relationships with key government figures and business leaders.
- Fluency in English and Arabic.
- Comfort with financial reporting/P&L.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong leadership with the ability to inspire and drive a sales team to exceed targets.
- Strategic thinker with an entrepreneurial mindset and a hands-on approach.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-changing market and navigate complex business environments.
- Experience working and leading in a matrixed organization.
- Experience working and leading teams in the Gulf Region.
