The General Manager of Food in Dubai will be responsible for leading Careem Technologies' largest business and will now have the exciting challenge of taking this business to market leadership. Dubai is a fast-growing, dynamic market with new opportunities and challenges every day and lots of unfulfilled white spaces. You will have end-to-end ownership of the business in Dubai, will need to set a bold vision, lay out the strategy, lead/build a high-caliber team, and deliver results through world-class execution. You will need to collaborate with multiple functional teams to bring the best of Careem to the market. You will be responsible for delighting/balancing the interests of the three sides of the marketplace, namely the customers, restaurant partners, and captains, and ensuring each of them has a great experience working with us.
What you ll do
Define the strategy and value proposition for Careem Food in Dubai
Translate the strategy into a clear and actionable business plan that drives aggressive market share growth for Careem Food in Dubai
Manage Careem Food's business day to day within Dubai and own the growth and scaling of the business in the city
Recruit, train, and manage a team of Commercial account managers to drive revenue and exceed targets
Encourage, support, and develop the team, monitoring their success and conducting regular performance reviews
Develop and sustain solid relationships with key restaurant partners
Develop a thorough understanding of partners' needs and requirements and prepare customized solutions
Negotiate contracts with key partners and create solutions for partners' long-term goals
Be a key part of the global food leadership team responsible for the overall direction and growth of the business
Encourage and lead collaboration between teams
What you ll need
Strong understanding of the food delivery/food tech/quick commerce industry with a keen view on opportunities for innovation/creative breakthrough ideas (commercial + powered by tech)
Deep understanding of customer psychology and ability to craft solutions that customers fall in love with, are hard to copy by competition, and create bottom line growth for the business
This is a high visibility role. You will need to demonstrate exceptional executive presence and communication skills to drive alignment on the direction of Careem's largest business
Resilience and ability to adapt will be critical to success
Deep understanding of Dubai as a city will be a strong Plus
