Position Summary:
Andersen is hiring on behalf of a reputed client in the UAE's retail furniture sector for the position of General Manager. This is a pivotal leadership role overseeing 8–10 retail showrooms across the UAE. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in multi-store operations, strategic leadership, and sales-driven execution. The General Manager will be responsible for delivering consistent operational excellence, enhancing customer experience, and driving profitability in alignment with business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational & Strategic Leadership:
- Oversee daily operations across all showrooms, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and alignment with brand standards.
- Develop and execute strategies to meet business objectives and growth targets defined by senior management.
- Implement SOPs to streamline operations and enhance overall productivity.
- Take full ownership of achieving monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and profitability targets set by the management.
- Monitor sales performance across locations, identify underperforming areas, and implement corrective actions.
- Drive showroom staff to consistently exceed performance KPIs.
Team Management:
- Lead, train, and motivate showroom managers and cross-functional teams.
- Build a performance-oriented culture with clear KPIs, accountability, and recognition.
- Handle staffing, recruitment, and team development initiatives across all stores.
Customer Experience:
- Ensure exceptional customer service standards are maintained across all showrooms.
- Address customer feedback and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Create customer loyalty programs and retention strategies.
- Prepare and manage budgets, control costs, and ensure profitability across all branches.
- Monitor P&L reports, margins, and operational costs in line with business goals.
Marketing & Promotions:
- Collaborate with marketing team to execute showroom-level promotions, seasonal campaigns, and brand visibility initiatives.
- Support digital and in-store marketing strategies to increase footfall and conversions.
Inventory & Supply Chain:
- Supervise inventory control, ordering cycles, and stock optimization across showrooms.
- Liaise with suppliers, logistics partners, and warehouse teams to ensure timely delivery and availability of products.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related discipline (MBA preferred)
- Minimum 10 years of retail experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing multiple store locations.
- Proven track record of consistently achieving or exceeding sales and operational targets.
- Strong financial and business acumen with P&L experience.
- Familiarity with the UAE retail market and consumer behaviour.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Goal-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Proficiency in retail systems/ERP and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong team-building and negotiation abilities.
- Multilingual (English required; Arabic a plus).
- Understanding of visual merchandising and retail trends.
