Digital Talent MENA is partnering with a prominent civil engineering company in the UAE to hire a highly skilled and dynamic General Manager. This key role is essential for leading operations and driving strategic initiatives within the organization.
- Responsible for generating new clients while maintaining existing ones.
- Develop and monitor project timelines, ensuring adherence to deadlines and proactive mitigation of delays or cost overruns.
- Manage office resource planning, technical budget allocation, and project prioritization.
- Work closely with the Chief Design and Operations Director to align technical and operational goals with company objectives.
- Ensure all projects are delivered timely and with the highest quality standards.
- Oversee all phases of technical projects, from initiation and planning through execution and final delivery.
- Develop and execute the company's growth strategy, aligning with overall business objectives.
- Oversee the Steel Team in Dubai & Egypt.
- Establish office organizational metrics and reporting systems to measure team performance, productivity, and project outcomes.
- Review and approve technical proposals and pricing.
- Lead and manage the technical team to ensure all projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Review and approve technical and operational documentation.
Strategic Leadership
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, government agencies, and SSE interactions.
- Act as a liaison between technical teams, clients, and the CEO to ensure clear communication and understanding.
- Implement systems for cost efficiency, quality assurance, and risk management, utilizing tools like Microsoft Project.
- Mentor and manage cross-functional teams, including architects, design engineers, and steel engineers.
- Manage performance, conduct evaluations, and provide guidance to support career growth.
- Lead, mentor, and develop technical teams, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Conduct regular site inspections and quality audits to resolve technical issues and ensure safety protocols are followed.
Financial Oversight
- Ensure business growth year over year.
- Track expenditures and optimize resource allocation to maximize profitability.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors and subcontractors to ensure cost-effective procurement and adherence to terms.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering; master's in project management or MBA preferred.
- 20+ years of experience in structural consulting engineering, including leadership roles in large-scale or multi-disciplinary projects.
