Job description

Serve as the first point of contact in the MEA region for the Vice President, Corporate Secretary, and General Counsel for ESG and International (located in the and, working with the other members of the Honeywell Law Department, ensure delivery of legal services in a timely and effective manner across the region.

Actively participate on the regional business leadership teams and operate as a true business partner, providing commercial and pragmatic advice and solutions.

Enable right and fast legal counsel on the full range of legal and regulatory issues for each of the businesses in the region, including those relating to company secretarial, commercial and contract law, environmental, health and safety, intellectual property, leasing, licensing, compliance, foreign investment, labor & employment, M&A, product liability, anti-trust, etc.

Analyze, assess the risks and benefits of, and lead execution of matters of strategic importance to the business in the region, such as alliances, acquisitions, divestitures, partnerships, joint ventures and the establishment of new sites and legal entities (including engagement with regulators).

For the UOP and Sustainable Technology Solutions business units, work directly with the regional business, finance, legal and other functional teams with respect to commercial matters (including drafting, negotiating and managing legal documentation for a broad range of commercial transactions such as partnership, licensing, supply, and sales agreements), dispute resolution, training and compliance.

Provide regional leadership for all in-region Law Department personnel, fostering a One Honeywell team and owning the ongoing development of the regional legal team in a high-performance culture.

Manage litigation and direct dispute resolution efforts, including the management of external counsel for referred matters in the region.

Champion the integrity and compliance program for the region, including participation in internal investigations in coordination with the Honeywell Integrity & Compliance team.

Conduct preventive law training on a wide variety of topics, including competition law, export regulations, data privacy, contracting excellence, protection of intellectual property, anticorruption, and workplace issues.

Develop standardized processes and templates to efficiently deliver legal services in the region and in support of Honeywell Law Department initiatives.

Qualifications:

At least 7 years of post-qualification experience as a Licensed Attorney working at a major law firm and/or multinational company in a senior legal capacity.

  • Law qualification will be an added advantage.

Experience in managing legal staff.

Strong multinational business transactional experience, including business acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures as well as commercial agreements.

Familiarity with compliance matters and in-region dispute resolution and litigation.

Demonstrated intellectual capacity and high personal standards of excellence, including integrity and good judgment.

Personal presence, communication skills, and credibility necessary to effectively interact with and influence senior management across businesses, functions, and geographies.

Ability to work independently and aggressively to drive key initiatives at a distance from direct supervisor.

Ability and enthusiasm for serving as a strategic thought leader while simultaneously engaging in details and executing in a tactical capacity.

Demonstrated ability to teach and motivate business teams on legal issues affecting business transactions and provide advice that blends legal experience with an understanding of, and appreciation for, a client's business objectives and the needs of a global organization.
