We are looking for a Temporary General Accountant & Tax Specialist to join our Accounting and Tax team in Dubai. This is a 6-month temporary role that will provide critical support in ensuring accurate financial reporting and timely tax submissions during a peak workload period.

What you´ll do

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes in accordance with IFRS and Henkel internal policies.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
  • Assist in maintaining the general ledger and reconciling balance sheet accounts.
  • Support in the preparation of internal and external audits.
  • Collaborate with other finance functions including Controlling and Treasury.
  • Assist in preparing VAT and other tax filings in compliance with UAE tax regulations.
  • Support with tax reconciliations and respond to queries from authorities when needed.
  • Ensure proper documentation and compliance for all tax-related matters.

What makes you a good fit

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in accounting and/or tax functions, preferably in a multinational environment.
  • Solid understanding of IFRS and UAE tax regulations (particularly VAT).
  • Proficiency in SAP or other ERP systems is a strong advantage.
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
  • Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus.
