Job summary

SearchPlus HR Consultancy is sourcing a Specialist/Consultant Gastroenterologist for a leading UAE facility. The role requires a UK CCT in Gastroenterology or equivalent and strong endoscopy skills to diagnose, manage and treat GI and liver diseases.

You will collaborate with hepatologists, surgeons and radiologists, delivering evidence-based care and guiding multidisciplinary teams while meeting UAE regulatory standards. Relocation and licensing support are provided.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent qualification.
• UK Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Gastroenterology or equivalent recognised training.
• Post-qualification clinical experience as required by UAE licensing authorities.
• Competency in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy appropriate to the role.
• Eligibility for Specialist or Consultant classification under DHA/DOH/MOHAP, subject to credential assessment.
• Current or eligible GMC registration and Good Standing where applicable.
• Strong clinical decision-making, communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
• Willingness to relocate to the UAE.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive consultations and evaluations for GI and hepatobiliary disorders.
• Diagnose and manage GERD, peptic ulcers, IBD, IBS, GI bleeding and liver diseases.
• Perform diagnostic/therapeutic endoscopy (gastroscopy and colonoscopy) per privileges.
• Provide endoscopic interventions such as polypectomy, haemostasis and biopsies.
• Coordinate care with hepatologists, surgeons, oncologists, radiologists and dietitians.
• Educate patients on disease prevention, adherence and long-term management.
• Ensure screening and surveillance for GI malignancies as applicable.
• Manage urgent gastroenterology cases and coordinate hospital admissions when needed.
