Job description

We are seeking an experienced Fuel Oil Trader to develop and expand our fuel oil trading business. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing, trading, and marketing fuel oil products, building relationships with suppliers and buyers, negotiating contracts, managing trading risks, and achieving profitability targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Trading & Business Development
  • Develop and manage fuel oil trading activities in regional and international markets.
  • Identify and establish relationships with refineries, traders, suppliers, and end-users.
  • Source and market fuel oil products, including HSFO, LSFO, VLSFO, Marine Fuel, and related petroleum products.
  • Negotiate purchase and sales contracts to maximize trading margins.
  • Monitor market trends, pricing movements, supply-demand fundamentals, and competitor activities.
  • Track vessel movements, import/export data, refinery operations, and market developments.
  • Identify arbitrage opportunities and new trading prospects.
  • Maintain up-to-date market information and provide regular market reports.
  • Evaluate commercial, operational, and credit risks associated with transactions.
  • Coordinate with finance and management regarding credit limits and exposure.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and trading procedures.
4.Operations & Execution
  • Coordinate with suppliers, logistics providers, inspection companies, and customers to ensure smooth transaction execution.
  • Resolve operational issues related to loading, discharge, documentation, and product quality.
  • Work closely with operations and finance teams for timely contract performance and payment collection.
5.Relationship Management
  • Develop long-term relationships with key market participants.
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to expand the company's market presence.
Requirements
  • Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in fuel oil trading or petroleum products trading.
  • Proven track record of generating profitable trading business.
  • Established network of fuel oil suppliers, traders, and buyers.
  • Skills:
  • Strong negotiation and commercial skills.
  • Excellent understanding of fuel oil markets and pricing mechanisms.
  • Knowledge of international trade terms, shipping, and logistics.
  • Strong analytical and risk assessment capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, trading platforms, and market intelligence tools.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
