We are seeking an experienced and driven Diesel & Naphtha Trader to join our trading desk. In this mid-level role, you will be responsible for managing and growing our physical and derivative trading books for middle distillates (specifically Diesel/Gasoil) and light distillates (Naphtha). The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of executing profitable trades, managing product-specific risk, and leveraging market arbitrage and operate with a high degree of independence, focusing entirely on market commerciality, counterparty relationships, and book optimization, while collaborating with our dedicated execution teams.
Trading Portfolio Management
- Execute physical and paper trading strategies for Diesel Gasoil and Naphtha to meet established P L targets
Arbitrage Blending Economics
- Identify and execute commercial arbitrage opportunities Evaluate blending economics and quality giveaway to maximize margins
Market Analysis Strategy
- Monitor global and regional supply demand balances refinery run rates petrochemical margins for Naphtha feedstock and transport demand for Diesel to anticipate market movements
Relationship Management
- Maintain and expand commercial relationships with refiners petrochemical producers major distributors brokers and state owned oil companies
Risk Management Hedging
- Manage price exposure basis risk and structure-hedging programs using futures swaps and options in strict compliance with corporate risk policies
Commercial Execution
- Negotiate pricing quality and delivery terms for physical supply and purchase contracts ensuring smooth handoff to the operations team for logistics and delivery
Required Qualifications - Skills
- 3 to 6 years of direct trading experience in refined products specifically focusing on Diesel Gasoil Naphtha or closely related distillate books
Required Qualifications - Education
- Bachelor s degree in Business Finance Economics Engineering or a related field
Required Qualifications - Product Expertise
- Deep understanding of chemical specifications quality parameters and blending practices for both Diesel e g sulfur PPM limits and Naphtha e g paraffin content gravity
Required Qualifications - Market Pricing Knowledge
- Strong working knowledge of relevant pricing benchmarks e g Platts Argus ICE Gasoil and regional pricing mechanisms e g Arab Gulf Singapore Rotterdam
Required Qualifications - Risk Proficiency
- Solid experience using financial derivatives to hedge physical exposure manage crack spreads and trade paper-to-physical structures
Required Qualifications - Commercial Acumen
- Strong negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to structure complex physical supply and purchase contracts
