Job summary

Peninsula in Dubai seeks a seasoned professional to lead procurement of marine fuels and blending components for regional ports. You will build long-term relationships with suppliers, optimize sourcing, and coordinate with operations, chartering, and hedging desks to maximize value while mitigating risk.

The role requires strong market understanding of residual and distillate fuels, fluency in English, and proven negotiation and analytics skills.

Qualifications

• Essential: Business level English; strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Essential: Persuasive, influential, and negotiation abilities.
• Essential: High ownership, accountability and proactive mindset.
• Essential: Analytical and strategic thinking with market understanding.
• Desirable: Knowledge of residual/distillate fuel pools and inputs; familiarity with ISO 8210.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, establish and build relationships with new and existing suppliers.
• Procure Marine Fuels and blending components to sustain regional supply.
• Coordinate with Operations, Chartering and Hedging desks to maximize value and manage risk.
• Analyze market conditions, fundamentals, geopolitics, and market structure for informed decisions.
• Coordinate with Regional Book Manager to align procurement with risk management framework.
• Define and implement medium/long-term procurement strategies.
• Assist in internal and external marketing activities as needed.
• Use local market intelligence to monitor competitor and supplier flows.
• Ensure counterparty vetting and risk controls with Supervisor and Supplier Credit Team.
