Job summary

SAF COMMUNICATION SYSTEM LLC is hiring a Fiber Optic Technician in Abu Dhabi to handle end-to-end FTTH installations at customer premises. The role demands strong technical aptitude, problem solving, and exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities include splicing, termination, testing with OTDR and power meters, and ensuring accurate documentation. UAE residency and immediate availability are preferred; candidate must be UAE-based with Emirates ID.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Fiber Optics; 2–5 years hands-on FTTH experience preferred.
• Proven fiber splicing, termination and testing experience.
• Proficient with OTDR, power meter and fusion splicing machines.
• Strong cabling knowledge and adherence to fiber optic standards.
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
• Good problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Physically fit for on-site work; UAE experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install pull routes and secure fiber optic cables (Single/Multimode).
• Perform splicing, termination and patch panel installation.
• Conduct testing using OTDR, power meter and light source.
• Identify and rectify fiber faults and signal loss.
• Read drawings, layouts and technical specs; update as-built docs.
• Coordinate with engineers, supervisors and technicians; meet deadlines.
