Job summary

Fatherson International is seeking a Civil Quantity Surveyor to manage project costs, prepare BOQs, and perform quantity take-offs for civil construction. The ideal candidate will have experience reading civil, architectural, and structural drawings, with strong analytical, communication, and coordination skills.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and quantity surveying software.
• Knowledge of BOQ preparation, estimation, cost control, and contract administration.
• Ability to read and interpret civil, architectural, and structural drawings.
• Good analytical, communication, and coordination skills.
• Experience in UAE construction projects is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for civil and construction projects.
• Perform quantity take-offs from architectural, structural, and civil drawings.
• Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and material quantity calculations.
• Prepare interim payment applications, progress claims, and final accounts.
• Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations and compare prices.
• Monitor project expenses, variations, and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare variation orders and evaluate additional works.
• Assist in tender preparation, pricing, and contract documentation.
• Coordinate with site engineers, consultants, contractors, and project managers.
• Verify site measurements and ensure quantities match approved drawings and actual work completed.
• Maintain accurate records of project costs, invoices, payments, and commercial documents.

Civil Quantity Surveyor (QS) – Job Description

A Civil Quantity Surveyor (QS) is responsible for managing project costs, preparing cost estimates, quantity take-offs, BOQs, and ensuring that construction projects are completed within the approved budget. The role involves coordinating with project managers, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors to monitor project costs and maintain accurate commercial documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and review Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for civil and construction projects.

Perform quantity take-offs from architectural, structural, and civil drawings.

Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and material quantity calculations.

Prepare interim payment applications, progress claims, and final accounts.
