Job summary

Fatherson International Fze in Dubai seeks an Electrical Draftsman to prepare precise 2D electrical drawings for buildings, commercial projects, and infrastructure. You will draft layouts for lighting, power, ELV systems, and related disciplines using AutoCAD and BIM tools.

You will coordinate with HVAC, plumbing, architectural teams and ensure compliance with UAE standards while producing detailed sections, details and installation drawings as required.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in electrical drafting for building projects.
• Solid knowledge of MEP coordination and clash-free layouts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed 2D electrical drawings using AutoCAD.
• Develop layouts for lighting, power, and ELV systems.
• Create SLDs, schematic diagrams, panel schedules, and load schedules.
• Produce DBs/SMDBs/MDBs layouts and installation details.
• Coordinate drawings with HVAC, plumbing, and architecture.
• Update as-built drawings based on site installation.
• Ensure drawings comply with project specs and UAE regulations.
• Maintain drawing revisions and documentation.

Job description

An Electrical Draftsman is responsible for preparing accurate technical drawings and layouts for electrical systems in buildings, commercial projects, industrial facilities, and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed 2D electrical drawings using AutoCAD and other drafting software.
  
• Prepare electrical layout, shop drawings, installation drawings, and as-built drawings.
  
• Develop drawings for lighting, power, small power, cable trays, containment, and electrical equipment.
  
• Prepare single-line diagrams (SLD), schematic diagrams, panel schedules, and load schedules.
  
• Prepare layouts for DBs, SMDBs, MDBs, transformers, generators, and electrical rooms.
  
• Prepare drawings for ELV systems, including CCTV, access control, data/telephone, and other low-current systems.
  
• Read and interpret electrical engineering drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
  
• Coordinate electrical drawings with HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, architectural, and structural services.
  
• Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, UAE regulations, and applicable electrical standards.
  
• Revise drawings according to engineer, consultant, client, and site comments.
  
• Prepare sections, details, elevations, and installation details where required.
  
• Coordinate with electrical engineers, BIM modelers, site engineers, subcontractors, and other MEP teams.
  
• Prepare and update as-built drawings based on actual site installation.
  
• Maintain proper drawing revisions, registers, and documentation.
  
• Check drawings for accuracy, dimensions, equipment locations, cable routes, and coordination before submission.
  

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and electrical drafting.
  
• Good knowledge of MEP electrical systems and construction drawings.
  
• Ability to understand electrical symbols, layouts, specifications, and technical documents.
  
• Knowledge of lighting, power distribution, cable containment, and ELV systems.
  
• Understanding of MEP coordination and clash-free layouts.
  
• Knowledge of Revit MEP/BIM is an added advantage.
  
• Good attention to detail and ability to meet project deadlines.
