Job summary

Fatherson International in Dubai, UAE, is seeking an Electrical Draftsman to prepare detailed electrical drawings, shop drawings, layouts and coordination drawings for building and MEP projects. You will collaborate with electrical engineers, BIM coordinators, site teams and consultants to meet project requirements and construction standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Strong knowledge of building electrical systems and MEP services.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical shop drawings and construction drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit MEP.
• Prepare layouts for lighting, power, small power, emergency lighting, and electrical containment systems.
• Develop drawings for cable trays, cable trunking, conduits, DBs, SMDBs, MDBs, and electrical equipment.
• Prepare single-line diagrams (SLDs), schematic diagrams, riser diagrams, and electrical details.
• Coordinate electrical services with HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, architectural, and structural systems.
• Review engineering drawings and specifications to ensure accurate drafting and detailing.
• Identify and resolve drawing discrepancies and coordination issues.
• Prepare and update drawings based on consultant/client comments and site requirements.
• Prepare as-built drawings based on actual site installation.
• Assist with electrical quantity take-offs, schedules, and material documentation.
• Maintain proper drawing revisions, references, and documentation.

The Electrical Draftsman is responsible for preparing accurate and detailed electrical drawings, shop drawings, layouts, and coordination drawings for building and MEP projects. The role involves working closely with electrical engineers, BIM coordinators, site teams, consultants, and other MEP disciplines to ensure drawings meet project requirements and construction standards.

Key Responsibilities:
