Job summary

Fatherson International Fze is seeking a Plumbing Draftsman in Dubai to prepare detailed plumbing drawings and coordination drawings for building and MEP projects. You will develop layouts for water supply, sanitary drainage, and vent systems, and coordinate with HVAC, electrical, and architectural services.

The ideal candidate has 3–5+ years of UAE/GCC project experience, strong AutoCAD skills, and familiarity with Revit MEP.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

The Plumbing Draftsman is responsible for preparing detailed plumbing drawings, layouts, shop drawings, and coordination drawings for building and MEP projects. The role requires strong knowledge of sanitary drainage, water supply, rainwater, and plumbing systems, along with the ability to coordinate plumbing services with architectural, structural, HVAC, electrical, and firefighting systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed plumbing shop drawings and construction drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit MEP.
• Develop layouts for water supply, sanitary drainage, soil and waste, rainwater, and vent systems.
• Prepare plumbing plans, sections, riser diagrams, schematics, and installation details.
• Coordinate plumbing systems with HVAC, electrical, firefighting, architectural, and structural services.
• Review architectural and engineering drawings to identify conflicts and technical requirements.
• Prepare 2D/3D plumbing coordination drawings as required.
• Incorporate consultant/client comments and update drawings accordingly.
• Prepare as-built drawings based on actual site installations.
• Coordinate with plumbing engineers, site engineers, BIM coordinators, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Ensure drawings follow project specifications, standards, and approved design requirements.
• Assist in preparing material schedules, pipe schedules, and quantity take-offs when required.
• Maintain proper drawing revisions and documentation throughout the project.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering / MEP preferred.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing and sanitary systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit MEP is an advantage.
• Good understanding of water supply, drainage, sewage, rainwater, and plumbing layouts.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Knowledge of plumbing materials, pipe sizes, fittings, valves, and installation methods.
• Strong MEP coordination and clash-resolution skills.
• Good attention to detail and ability to work according to project deadlines.

Preferred Experience:

3–5+ years of experience as a Plumbing Draftsman, preferably with experience in UAE/GCC projects, especially high-rise buildings, residential towers, commercial buildings, hotels, hospitals, and large-scale construction project.
