About the job

Based at the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi, within the Front Office Department, the Front Desk Agent is responsible for checking in and checking out hotel guests in a friendly and caring manner according to the standards. At all times, they must display a professional and positive image of the hotel, as they play a crucial role in the first and last impression guests receive. The Front Desk Agent reports to the Front Office Manager.

Responsibilities:
  • Check in arriving guests and check out departing guests courteously according to standards.
  • Register guests, assign rooms, and assist with completing registration cards upon check-in.
  • Accommodate special requests whenever possible.
  • Use suggestive selling techniques to promote rooms and other hotel services.
  • Verify guest payment methods and follow credit-checking procedures or refer cash payments to cashiers.
  • Process guest check-out procedures upon departure.
  • Receive payments, settle accounts, and provide invoices.
  • Handle cashier activities, including posting charges and currency exchange, and balance the cash float at shift end.
  • Respond to guest requests and questions courteously, whether by phone or in person, and refer issues to relevant departments as needed.
  • Coordinate room status updates with housekeeping, including late check-outs, early check-ins, and special requests.
  • Possess knowledge of room reservation procedures.
Candidate Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a luxury hotel or resort preferred.
  • Well-groomed with a professional appearance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Physically agile and able to stand for extended periods.
