Job summary

SODRU S.A. in Dubai seeks an experienced Maritime Chartering Specialist to negotiate charter parties, fix ocean freight, and coordinate loading/unloading.

The role requires 5+ years in maritime logistics, fluent English (Russian a plus), and familiarity with BIMCO forms, Netpas, and laytime calculations. You will liaise with shipowners, brokers, and clients to optimize vessel utilization.

Qualifications

• Higher education in organization of transportation and process management in transport/logistics/navigation.
• Knowledge of basic BIMCO forms of charter-parties and its general terms and conditions.
• Language proficiency: fluent English obligatory (incl. professional terminology) and Russian (advantage).
• 5 years of experience in maritime transportation/logistics (3 years minimum).
• English Law basic principles within claim’s negotiations.
• Knowledge of MS Office products, laytime calculation products (BV laytime, Enqlare and etc.), distance calculation programs (Netpas).
• Personal qualities: high level of responsibility, attention to details when working with documents, stress resistance, communication skills, ability to learn.
• Desire to develop in the logistics and freight field, deepening professional knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities

• Search and fix bulkers, tankers, and coasters.
• Negotiate charter parties and fix ocean freight for voyage charters.
• Maintain active networks with shipowners, operators, brokers, agents and clients.
• Review weekly freight markets and prepare internal commercial reports.
• Nominate vessels to shippers/consignees and coordinate loading/unloading processes.
• Monitor cargo readiness for shipments and ports queues/line-ups at loading/unloading ports.
• Forecast chartered vessels’ departure/arrival.
• Control cargo documents for incoming/outgoing chartered vessels.
• Provide information on incoming and outgoing vessels.
• Calculate and coordinate lay time negotiations (demurrage and dispatch).
• Prepare and coordinate vessels’ loading/unloading plans; ensure reporting and reviewing/commenting SOF.
• Prepare LOI with counterparties for light rain during loading/discharging, for discharging w/o OBL etc.
• Cooperation with insurance and legal departments with regard to claims and protests.

Requirements:

• Higher education (preferably on organization of transportation and process management in transport/logistics/navigation or other related studies on transportation of goods by sea);
