Job summary

Food Specialities Limited seeks an experienced Freight Manager to lead international freight movements across air, sea and land. You will optimize imports from Europe, Asia and the Far East into GCC and support exports to North Africa and Yemen.

You will manage procurement, carrier negotiations, rate management and regulatory compliance to ensure uninterrupted supply chain operations for FMCG products. This role offers regional exposure and strategic influence in a fast-growing business.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in freight forwarding, logistics management and international shipping.
• Proven track record in multimodal transportation and import/export operations.
• Strong knowledge of customs clearance and trade compliance.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lead and optimize international freight movements across air, sea and land.
• Oversee freight procurement, carrier selection, rate negotiations and contracts.
• Monitor market trends, capacity constraints and regulatory changes affecting shipments.
• Evaluate routes, transit times, port congestion and customs requirements for best solutions.
• Manage temperature-controlled FMCG & food shipments with focus on quality and timeliness.
• Maintain relationships with freight forwarders, carriers, airlines and brokers.
• Drive freight cost optimization while maintaining service levels and on-time delivery.
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations and GCC trade requirements.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Freight Manager to lead and optimize international freight movements across Air, Sea, and Land transportation modes. The role will be responsible for managing imports from Europe, Asia, and the Far East into GCC countries, while supporting exports to North Africa, Yemen, and GCC markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and optimize international and regional freight operations.
• Manage freight procurement, carrier selection, rate negotiations, and contract administration.
• Monitor freight market trends, rate validity, capacity constraints, and geopolitical developments to ensure uninterrupted supply chain operations.
• Evaluate transportation routes, transit times, port congestion, customs requirements, and regulatory compliance to determine the most effective logistics solutions.
• Oversee temperature-controlled and time-sensitive FMCG and food product shipments.
• Manage relationships with freight forwarders, shipping lines, airlines, transport providers, customs brokers, and internal stakeholders.
• Drive freight cost optimization initiatives while maintaining high service levels and on-time delivery performance.
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations, GCC trade requirements, and international shipping standards.

What We're Looking For

• Extensive experience in freight forwarding, logistics management, and international shipping.
• Strong expertise in multimodal transportation (Air, Sea & Land).
• Proven background in import/export operations, customs clearance, trade compliance, and shipment documentation.
• Hands-on experience with freight booking, routing strategies, freight portals, freight management systems, and e-bidding platforms.
• Strong commercial acumen with expertise in freight quotations, carrier negotiations, and rate management.
• Ability to manage complex supply chain challenges within dynamic and volatile freight markets.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
• Prior experience within the Freight , FMCG, or Distribution of Goods industry is highly preferred.
