Freight Facility Foreman

Position Overview

The Freight Facility Foreman is responsible for safely managing the day-to-day operations at terminals and ensuring overall compliance with rules, regulations, and procedures by the Terminal Operator Team.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Manage the daily operations of Etihad Rail Freight Terminals, including DG operations as required.
2. Supervise shift operations of the Terminal Operator teams.
3. Manage handovers between main-line and Freight Facility within the controlled territories.
4. Operate signalling and route setting equipment to facilitate train arrivals and departures.
5. Operate signalling equipment for shunting activities as needed.
6. Monitor telecommunications equipment, including Emergency Phones, Administrative Phones, CRs, Network alarms (vital and non-vital), BMIS, GSM-R, and the Master Clock.
7. Handle regular and emergency communications via ICSS and desk telephones.
8. Conduct effective shift handovers, including current rail and equipment status, abnormal events, faults, maintenance activities, and outstanding works. Detect alarms from APS, verify and adjust RFID tags readings, and synchronize with local controllers using ICSS iHMI.
9. Plan and manage rail yard activities to maximize terminal efficiency.
10. Input data to support the Terminals Operating System as required.
11. Oversee maintenance activities at the rail terminal.
12. Monitor staffing levels of the Terminal Operations team according to the plan and report shortages to the location manager.
13. Lead and assist the team to ensure full compliance with safety requirements.

Academic Qualifications:

Experience:

• Previous rail or terminal operations experience is preferred but not essential

Essential Requirements:

• Proficient in written and spoken English
• UAE Driving License
• Strong analytical skills and IT system proficiency for problem-solving
• Compliance with ER Rulebook, Procedures, and Instructions
