Role Overview:

We are seeking a Data Analyst with proven experience working in fraud/financial crime detection & prevention. The candidate must have strong hands-on proficiency in Python and SQL, with exposure to dashboarding tools (such as Tableau/Quicksight) desirable. This role plays a critical part in identifying fraud patterns, enabling data-driven prevention strategies, and delivering value to clients and internal teams through actionable insights. This is an on-site role based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and requires the candidate to work from our office in Abu Dhabi office 5 days a week. We are happy to provide relocation support to help you make this transition.

Key Responsibilities of a Fraud Data Analyst:

  • Fraud Detection & Analysis: Conduct advanced statistical analyses and anomaly detection to uncover suspicious behavior and fraudulent activity within large and complex datasets.
  • Mandatory Tech Stack: Leverage Python and SQL to process, analyze, and model fraud-related data; automate detection pipelines and develop analytical workflows.
  • Data Storytelling: Build and maintain interactive dashboards using Tableau/Quicksight, enabling visualization of fraud trends, KPIs, and performance metrics.
  • Insight Generation: Translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders, enabling faster fraud response.
  • Client Engagement: Support client workshops and deliver tailored fraud analytics recommendations that align with business goals and risk posture.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with Customer Success, Integration, Product, and Engineering teams to embed fraud analytics into product solutions and client engagements.
  • Product Feedback: Provide analytical feedback to shape the evolution of Callsign's fraud detection solutions, helping to stay ahead of emerging fraud threats and evolving market needs.
  • Best Practices & Governance: Champion data analysis best practices, ensure compliance with privacy and regulatory standards, and maintain high-quality documentation.
  • Client Enablement: Travel as needed to client sites to provide training, insights, and analytical support for fraud prevention initiatives.
Mandatory Requirements:

  • Proven experience in Fraud Data Analytics - strong understanding of fraud/financial crime Modus Operandi, detection methodologies, and behavioral analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL - hands-on experience with data extraction, cleansing, manipulation, and statistical analysis.
  • Hands-on experience building Tableau/Quicksight dashboards - capable of creating insightful and visually engaging dashboards for diverse audiences.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related STEM discipline.
  • 2-3 years of hands-on experience in data analysis or data science, with a focus on fraud detection, financial crime, or risk analytics.
  • Strong grasp of data modeling concepts, database systems, and visualization best practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present insights to both technical and business stakeholders.
Additional Skills (Nice to Have):

  • Experience within Financial Services (Retail, Private, or Commercial Banking).
  • Exposure to Digital Transformation or Cybersecurity domains.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as PSD2 SCA, Open Banking, or SAMA CFF.
  • Applied experience with machine learning techniques for fraud detection or anomaly analysis.
