Every plate has the potential to create a memory that lasts a lifetime for our guests. To deliver all this and more, we’re looking for a Cook / Commis Chef with a passion for presentation, dedication to flavour and commitment to setting high standards from workspace to table and beyond.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Food Preparation and Cooking:

-Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards.

-Assist in the mise en place, ensuring all ingredients are prepped and ready.

-Monitor food quality, ensuring dishes are consistent and meet La Rive's standards.

Kitchen Operations:

-Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to maintain a smooth workflow.

-Ensure kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils are clean and organized.

-Adhere to safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations.

-Assist in the inventory management, including receiving, checking, and storing supplies.

Quality Control:

-Monitor portion sizes and waste control to maintain cost efficiency.

-Assist in developing and testing new recipes and menu items.

-Ensure proper labeling, dating, and storage of food items.

Training and Development:

-Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge.

● The strength to lift, push and pull big objects up to 50lbs (23 kg) which can also involve bending and kneeling
● A good grasp of reading, writing and basic maths
● The flexibility to work night, weekend and holiday shifts
● Compliance with local laws on food handling and serving alcohol – you’ll need to be above the minimum age required and fluent in the local language
● Great communication – you’ll be warm, welcoming and easy to talk to
