Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Identify key areas of risk in food operations for early remedial actions.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, licensing conditions, and codes of practice related to food businesses.
  • Monitor the health condition of food handlers.
  • Coordinate training for food handlers with the hygiene company.
  • Handle customer complaints or inquiries regarding food hygiene matters.
  • Act as the main contact with the Food and Environmental Hygiene department.
  • Advise food handlers on proper food handling practices and ensure compliance.
  • Conduct daily checks on the personal, environmental, and food hygiene conditions of the establishment and record findings.
  • Record chiller and freezer temperatures daily and report issues to the chef steward.
  • Coordinate hygiene food and material testing with the hotel’s laboratory.
  • Manage pest control and kitchen hygiene.
  • Adhere to the hotel’s hygiene and HACCP standards, ensuring SOPs and requirements are fully met.
  • Assist the chef steward and follow stewarding procedures when the chef steward is off duty.
Requirements
  • Food safety diploma.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in the same position.
  • Exhibiting behavioral styles that convey confidence and command respect, making a good first impression and representing Dubai’s values.
  • Maintain performance levels under pressure or during workplace changes or challenges.
