Job description

JOB TITLE: FPS SITE SUPERVISION & COMMISSIONING ENGINEER

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Supervise the FPS work at the assigned site according to approved drawings and materials, ensuring execution aligns with DEWA specifications and scope of work.
  2. Attend progress meetings with contractors, consultants, and SMEs as required.
  3. Coordinate with DEWA internal departments to address their requirements and queries, and ensure proper project completion with contractors and consultants.
  4. Issue site notes and follow up to ensure closure according to DEWA requirements.
  5. Validate the safe receipt of dispatched FPS equipment and materials by confirming compliance, conducting site inspections, and issuing safe receipt reports.
  6. Supervise FPS site installation, confirming compliance with prerequisites and installation checklists.
  7. Review submitted FPS staff by contractors or consultants, conduct interviews, and approve candidates.
  8. Witness site testing activities of FPS and confirm compliance with prerequisites.
  9. Verify received FPS materials using checklists and approval forms.
  10. Review and approve FPS as-built drawings prior to handover, ensuring compliance with checklists.
  11. Provide feedback and lessons learned, submit CATS reports, and update FPS activities in SAP.
  12. Issue FPS clearance for outages and energization, and hand over FPS works to the custodian.
  13. Respond promptly to emergencies involving transmission assets and coordinate restoration efforts.
  14. Maintain confidentiality of information during and after employment.
  15. Follow DEWA's OH&S Management System Manual and safety standards.
  16. Perform other duties as required.
  17. Ensure QA/QC compliance to minimize non-conformance during commissioning and ensure customer satisfaction.
  18. Promote continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics.
  • Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience for Bachelor's degree holders.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience for Diploma holders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of international standards.
  • Proficiency in technical report writing.
  • Valid driving license.
