Job summary

Harrow International School Abu Dhabi is seeking a Director of Arabic and Islamic Studies to join the founding team. You will design a rigorous curriculum, lead teaching excellence, and ensure alignment with UAE standards and Harrow values.

You will collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to drive student attainment and cultural understanding. You will promote Emirati culture and Islamic heritage, mentor staff, and oversee safeguarding and wellbeing across Arabic and Islamic education.

Qualifications

• Relevant leadership or senior management qualifications.
• Track record of developing and implementing culturally relevant curricula.
• Experience integrating UAE standards, culture and international practices.
• Strong data analysis to inform planning and progress.
• Strategic thinker with drive for innovation and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to inspire staff and students.
• Commitment to safeguarding and inclusivity in Harrow's ethos.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for Arabic and Islamic Studies aligned with UAE standards and Harrow ethos.
• Collaborate with SLT to improve inspection outcomes and student achievement.
• Lead curriculum development and assess data to guide learning.
• Oversee staff development and recruitment within the department.
• Ensure safeguarding and inclusive practices across teaching and learning.
