Job description

The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts to transport, load, and unload materials

and products within a warehouse or manufacturing environment. This role involves maintaining a safe working

environment, adhering to safety protocols, and ensuring that goods are handled properly to prevent damage.

• Operate forklifts to move materials and products to designated areas in the warehouse or manufacturing facility.

• Load and unload trucks and containers, ensuring proper placement and stacking of goods.

Conduct pre-operation inspections on forklifts and report any maintenance issues to supervisors.

• Safely handle and transport various materials, including pallets, crates, and bulk items.

• Follow proper procedures for stacking and storing materials to maximize space and maintain organization.

• Ensure that all materials are labeled correctly and stored in appropriate locations.

Safety Compliance

• Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment

(PPE).

• Participate in safety training programs and meetings, promoting a culture of safety among team members.

• Identify and report hazards or unsafe conditions to supervisors promptly.

Inventory Management

• Assist in inventory control by conducting regular counts of materials and products.

• Update inventory records as items are received or shipped, ensuring accurate documentation.

• Collaborate with warehouse staff to maintain an organized and efficient work environment.

Documentation and Reporting

• Complete required documentation for material movements, including shipping and receiving logs.

• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding workload, safety concerns, and

operational issues.

• Assist in training new forklift operators and other warehouse staff on proper material handling techniques.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• Education: Valid forklift operator certification/license as per local regulations.
