Job summary

Sunreef Yachts Eco in the United Arab Emirates seeks a Foreman to supervise joinery, carpentry and interior fit-out works for marine projects. You will lead the workshop and site teams, allocate tasks, read drawings and ensure high quality, safety and on-time delivery.

Coordinate with design, engineering and production, control material usage, train staff, maintain tools and PPE, and resolve issues to avoid delays. A background in yacht or luxury fit-out is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of joinery/carpentry experience.
  • Prefer marine/yacht or high-end fit-out background.
  • Experience as Charge Hand, Supervisor or Foreman.
  • Ability to supervise a team of skilled workers.
  • Strong knowledge of joinery, carpentry, modular furniture and interior fit-out.
  • Ability to read drawings and work instructions.
  • Good communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of carpenters, joiners and fit-out workers.
  • Allocate tasks to team members based on production priorities, skills and workload.
  • Monitor daily work progress and ensure activities are completed within the planned schedule.
  • Read and interpret drawings, specifications and work instructions related to joinery, carpentry and fit-out works.
  • Supervise the fabrication and installation of wooden, modular and interior fit-out components.
  • Ensure proper measurement, cutting, assembly, finishing and installation of joinery works.
  • Check the quality and accuracy of completed work and ensure compliance with approved standards.
  • Coordinate with Production, Design, Engineering and other departments to resolve work-related issues.
  • Ensure that required materials, tools and equipment are available before commencing work.
  • Monitor material usage and minimize wastage.
  • Identify defects, workmanship issues or deviations and arrange necessary corrections.
  • Guide and train team members on proper working methods and workmanship standards.
  • Ensure that tools, machinery and the work area are maintained in a safe and organized condition.
  • Ensure employees follow company safety procedures and use the required PPE.
  • Maintain discipline and productivity within the assigned team.
  • Report daily progress, manpower requirements, material requirements and production issues to the reporting manager.
  • Support urgent and time-sensitive production requirements and ensure deadlines are achieved.
  • Coordinate with other trades during fit-out activities to avoid delays or clashes.
  • Perform any other duties related to joinery, carpentry and fit-out operations as assigned by management.

Job Purpose

Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in joinery/carpentry, preferably in a marine, yacht, furniture or high-end fit-out environment.

Previous experience in a Charge Hand, Supervisor or Foreman position.

Strong practical knowledge of joinery, carpentry, modular furniture and interior fit-out works.

Ability to supervise and coordinate a team of skilled workers.

Ability to understand drawings and work instructions.

Good knowledge of tools, materials and working methods used in joinery and carpentry.

Ability to work under production deadlines.

Good communication and teamwork skills.
