Job Purpose
To generate timely, effective, and safe operational flight plans and pre-flight briefings for scheduled and non-scheduled flights throughout the Company’s network, in compliance with Air Arabia policies and procedures, and GCAA/CAA regulations. Supports operational control and dispatch reliability by responding efficiently to irregular and emergency requirements, prioritizing safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate flight plans, pre-flight briefings, and amendments for all types of flights, considering business needs, regulatory conditions, safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor flight performance and trends using the system based on various criteria.
- Analyze data to identify costs, weather, curfew constraints, and recommend cost-effective routes to the Operations Controller.
- Regularly analyze operational and meteorological data to recommend the safest and most efficient fuel requirements, considering weather, NOTAMs, NAV facilities, ATC, and MEL limitations.
- Provide management with detailed summaries on fuel consumption, flight plans, and related activities for ETOPs.
- Provide thorough flight crew briefings to the Captain-in-command, covering significant operational information.
- Transmit all Flight Plan requirements to ICAO directly or via approved handling agents.
- Coordinate with Operations Controller, Chief Pilot, and Captains to manage irregular operations, disruptions, delays, and cancellations, initiating alternative plans as needed.
- Use all available tools and channels during emergencies to communicate safety information to Captains, following the Operations Manual and regulatory procedures.
- Assist the Operations Controller in assessing incidents and initiating emergency procedures and notifications.
- Maintain LIDO Flight Planning data to ensure all OFPs meet regulatory and AIP requirements.
- Monitor daily flight plans to ensure data accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Liaise with LIDO on flight plan issues, implementing remedial actions promptly.
- Ensure smooth shift transitions through proper handovers before and after flights.
- Stay updated with changes to manuals, aircraft publications, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Math, Aeronautical Engineering, Management, or equivalent; higher diploma acceptable with relevant experience.
- Valid Flight Dispatcher Certificate or License from an approved institute, preferably GCAA; or successful completion of a Flight Dispatch course.
- Basic airport security procedures and regulations training is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel), Internet, and Web Search skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical report writing.
- Proficiency in English Language.
Work Experience
- Minimum of 3 years in a comparable airline operation department as a licensed Flight Dispatcher, preferably with low-cost airlines.
- Experience in scheduling and rostering.
- Familiarity with Civil Aviation Authority regulations (preferably GCAA) and related rules (CAR, FAR, JAR, IOSA).
- Experience with QA, Safety, Security, and Audit procedures related to Flight Operations.
- Ability to apply policies and procedures according to standards and regulations.
- Ability to perform under changing environments with heavy workloads and ad-hoc scenarios.
- Self-confidence, focus, and ability to handle emergencies effectively.
- Skills in data analysis, problem-solving, and decision-making.
- High accuracy, attention to detail, and good time management skills.
