Exciting Opportunity for Fixed Assets Specialist – Join Our Finance Team!

Are you detail-oriented and experienced in managing fixed assets? We are seeking a Fixed Assets Specialist to ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of our fixed assets master database. This role is vital in maintaining and tracking fixed assets while supporting the financial integrity of our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Purpose:
Ensure that the fixed assets master database is managed effectively and remains up to date at all times.
Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Receive and create master data for fixed assets in SAP.
- Assign tag numbers to fixed assets.
- Conduct periodic, quarterly, and annual physical inventory counts of fixed assets as applicable.
- Record fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions in the accounting system.
- Monitor and track project completion, capitalizing costs into fixed asset accounts upon completion.
- Reconcile and verify system reports related to fixed assets with the general ledger.
- Review and update detailed schedules of fixed assets and accumulated depreciation.
- Calculate asset retirement obligations for applicable fixed asset write-offs.
- Investigate potential obsolescence of fixed assets.
- Conduct periodic impairment reviews for intangible assets.
- Recommend to management whether fixed assets should be disposed of.
- Prepare reports related to fixed assets as requested by management.
- Prepare audit schedules for fixed assets and assist auditors with inquiries.
- Develop, recommend, and monitor controls, policies, and procedures related to fixed assets.
- Record and manage the transfer of fixed assets between locations upon management approval.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Banking & Finance, Accountancy, Commerce, or an equivalent course.
- Experience: Minimum of 3+ years in a related field, with substantial experience in handling fixed assets accounting, adjustments, and inventory counts. UAE driving license preferred.
- Skills & Abilities: Strong communication skills, fluency in English is essential, and Arabic is an added advantage. Proficiency in Excel and Word is required, and knowledge of SAP/Oracle is preferred.
