FITTER - MECHANICAL

Day-to-day operations:

1. Maintenance fault diagnosis and repair, including systematic strip down and re-building of mechanical equipment and components relating to, but not limited to, cranes, winches, pumps, compressors, valves, machine tools, and other similar plants.
2. Ensure spare parts are procured in advance to reduce downtime.
3. Maintenance and repairing of syncrolift and rexroth shiplifts, lower sheave & upper sheave, gearbox overhauling, and wire rope replacement.
4. Installation of mechanical plants and equipment.
5. Maintain good working relationships with workers, appointed foreman, supervisors, and management.
6. Perform duties of a foreman as required or appointed for individual projects.
7. Ensure materials are of required standard prior to use, reporting damages when necessary.
8. Work within allocated timescales to meet department targets.
9. Attend any training required by the department.
10. Maintain good housekeeping in all work areas.
11. Follow day-to-day operations related to own job to ensure continuity of work.
