Job summary

NAFFCO Careers is seeking a Quantity Surveyor for its Maintenance Department in Dubai, focusing on cost estimation, BOQ preparation and cost control for firefighting and fire alarm maintenance works. The role requires 1-2 years of related experience and a Mechanical Engineering degree, with proficiency in Excel, Office, and AutoCAD.

The candidate will review plans, prepare budgets, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate quantities and compliant documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 1-2 years of quantity surveying experience, preferably in firefighting/fire protection systems.
• Experience in BOQ preparation, quantity take-off, cost estimation and cost control.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQ), quantity take-offs, cost estimates and pricing schedules for maintenance works.
• Review work orders, scope of work, drawings, specifications and technical documents for accurate quantity measurements.
• Prepare cost estimates and monitor project budgets to ensure cost efficiency.
• Maintain records of quantities, material rates, labour costs and other expenses.
• Identify additional works, prepare variation orders and assist with claims and extension-of-time documentation.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Project, Procurement and Finance teams regarding material requirements and cost-related matters.
• Prepare cost reports and maintain documentation for ongoing and completed maintenance works.
• Ensure all estimates and BOQs comply with project specifications and applicable technical requirements.
