Job summary

Fatherson International FZE in Dubai seeks a Fire Fighting Draughtsman with 2–5 years of experience to prepare detailed AutoCAD shop drawings for sprinklers, hydrants and piping networks. • Diploma or technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.
• 2-5 years of experience as Fire Fighting Draughtsman in MEP or building construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed fire-fighting shop drawings using AutoCAD in accordance with approved design drawings and standards.
• Prepare layouts for sprinkler, fire hydrant, hose reel, and fire department connection networks.
• Develop piping layouts, riser diagrams, isometric drawings, and installation details.
• Prepare fire-fighting equipment layouts, valve locations, pipe supports and installation details.
• Coordinate drawings with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, architectural and structural plans.
• Identify and resolve clashes with engineers and other MEP teams.
• Revise drawings per consultant comments and site changes.
• Prepare as-built drawings according to on-site installations.
• Ensure drawings comply with UAE Civil Defence and NFPA requirements where applicable.
• Coordinate with fire-fighting engineers, site engineers and installation teams.

Job description

1. Prepare detailed fire-fighting shop drawings using AutoCAD in accordance with approved design drawings, project specifications, and applicable fire safety requirements.

2. Prepare layouts for sprinkler systems, fire hydrant systems, hose reels, fire department connections, and fire-fighting piping networks.

3. Develop piping layouts, sections, riser diagrams, isometric drawings, and installation details.

4. Prepare fire-fighting equipment layouts, valve locations, pipe supports, and installation details.

5. Coordinate fire-fighting drawings with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, architectural, and structural drawings.

6. Identify and resolve clashes and discrepancies in coordination with engineers and other MEP teams.

7. Revise drawings based on consultant comments, approved design changes, and site conditions.

8. Prepare as-built drawings according to actual site installations.

9. Ensure drawings comply with project specifications and applicable UAE Civil Defence and NFPA requirements, as applicable to the project.

10. Coordinate with fire-fighting engineers, site engineers, and installation teams.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Diploma or technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred.

• Minimum 2-5 years of experience as a Fire Fighting Draughtsman in MEP or building construction projects.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential; Revit MEP knowledge is an advantage.

• Good knowledge of sprinkler systems, fire hydrants, hose reels, valves, pumps, and fire-fighting piping layouts.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and project specifications.

• UAE/GCC project experience is preferred.

• Good coordination skills and attention to drawing accuracy.
