Job description

The Financial Analyst is responsible for preparing accurate financial reports, analysing data trends, and supporting strategic decision-making through data-driven insights to enhance financial performance. This role involves financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, ensuring compliance with government financial regulations and optimising cost efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including month-end and quarterly reports (MIS, Consolidated Statements, and Variance Analysis).
  2. Assist in developing presentations and dashboards for senior management and stakeholders.
  3. Assist in budget preparation, financial forecasting, and variance monitoring to ensure financial stability and operational efficiency.
  4. Conduct financial feasibility studies to support tourism partnerships, investments, and infrastructure development projects.
  5. Perform cost-benefit analysis on marketing campaigns, operational expenses, and new tourism initiatives to ensure financial sustainability.
  6. Analyse revenue trends, occupancy rates, seasonal fluctuations, and booking patterns with the Strategy department for budgeting and forecasting purposes.
  7. Analyse spend data including procurement, commercial, advertising, and promotional and present key recommendations to the internal stakeholders.
  8. Identify cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiencies.
  9. Ensure compliance with Authority's accounting & financial policies.
  10. Support the implementation of financial process enhancements to improve reporting accuracy and operational transparency.

Qualifications & Experience:

  1. 5+ years of experience in financial analysis and reporting.
  2. Strong knowledge of revenue management and financial modelling.
  3. Experience in the tourism industry preferred. Understanding of tourism revenue & cost structures (hotel bookings, travel agencies, tour operators, airlines, etc.).
  4. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
  5. Proficiency in the use of ERPs and their reporting modules (especially Oracle); dashboard tools such as Power BI or Tableau is a plus.
  6. Fluency in English (Arabic proficiency is an advantage).
