• Desirable knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS.

Salary: AED 18,000 – 22,000 + Benefits

Edge Resourcing has an exclusive assignment with a multinational FMCG company who are growing their presence in the Middle East to appoint a Financial Accountant. Reporting to the Business Unit Finance Director and with exposure to the European Headquarters (with travel), this position exists to manage cost accounting activities as well as to facilitate and produce regional forecasts on a monthly basis. This position is fully accountable for the results of the sub-zone accounting activity and for generation of other reports and statistics reflecting earnings, profits discretionary expenses and capital spending analysis, cash balances, and other financial results, as directed by the Finance Director.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile all balance sheet accounts (including AP, AP, fixed assets, intercompanies, accruals, prepayments).
• Maintain fixed asset register.
• Intercompany agreements.
• Hyperion Submissions (including GAAP adjustments).
• Posting of relevant Prepayments and Accruals to General Ledger.
• Preparation of Monthly Gross Contribution spreadsheet.
• Monthly Management accounts Pack for Management.
• Assist with year-end statutory accounts and audit requirements for Group purposes including Hyperion submission.
• Assist with completion of Tax Models for the Tax department.
• Participation in annual budget process. Consolidation of P&L, calculation of Balance Sheet and Hyperion Submission.
• Projection submission on Hyperion (P&L, B / S calculation).
• Quarterly Cash flow submissions on Hyperion (with P&L and B / S back-up).
• Assist with SAP implementation, maintenance and improvement.
• Inputting of Capital requests on company system.
• Ad-hoc Project work.
• Improvement of Finance / IT systems.

Qualifications

• Either a qualified Accountant (ACA or ACCA) from the ‘Big 4’ auditing firms or a qualified Accountant with 1-2 years’ experience in a Finance Department, preferably within an international Company.
• Knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS is desirable and you must be systems literate with very strong spreadsheet skills.
