Job summary

University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) is seeking a technically strong and detail-oriented Accountant to join the Finance team on a 6-month temporary contract. This role focuses on technical accounting outputs, VAT and corporate tax matters, and supporting internal VAT audits and E-Invoicing initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• 3–5 years' experience in financial accounting including month-end close and audit support.
• Working knowledge of VAT and tax compliance processes.
• Strong Excel skills; experience with Oracle advantageous.
• Part-qualified or pursuing CPA/ACCA/CMA or equivalent.
• Exposure to process automation or RPA tools.

Responsibilities

• Prepare month-end close entries, reconciliations, revenue schedules, and adjustment journals.
• Support year-end financial reporting and audit preparation.
• Manage audit requests, documentation, and draft responses to auditors.
• Assist with VAT and Corporate Tax reconciliations and compliance activities.
• Support payroll accounting and reconciliation processes.
• Contribute to finance process improvement and automation initiatives (RPA).
• Maintain finance process documentation and procedures.
• Assist with student accounts and accounts receivable requiring technical accounting support.
