Job purpose:

To work as part of the UAE finance operations team and primarily responsible for day-to-day operational activities, Responsible for performing the assigned finance operations, accounting, control and reporting activities. To ensure these are done within the defined timelines with a high degree of accuracy and a high standard of quality. To support the UAE- Accounts Manager in any other tasks including auditor engagement, regulatory engagement, system roll out, UAT testing and industry engagement.

Financial Accounting, operational & control responsibilities

  • Perform finance operations including receipting, refund processing, banking and payments operations.
  • Perform control, reconciliation and reporting activities assigned
  • Ensure adherence to timelines and high degree of accuracy and high standard of quality in the work
  • Responsible for ensuring the operating effectiveness of controls within the process
  • To suggest improvements to the existing process and operations in terms of better controls and efficiency based upon the understanding gained while performing the role.
  • Maintain and update process documentation in relation to the assigned processes, activities, controls and reporting.
  • Support the UAE Accounts manager to engage with external audit for providing the required details and supporting information to the auditors
  • Support the Accounts manager to engage with internal audit and risk requirements in relation to the branch activities
  • Support the Accounts manager in inter-departmental co-ordination including business verticals, Credit control, Legal Compliance, HR and any other functions with respect to the support requirements.
  • Participate in various finance and business projects and ensure smooth and effective implementation and post implementation process as and when required.

Regulatory Compliance, Governance & Reporting

  • Support in complying with financial reporting and solvency requirements as per the applicable insurance regulators.
  • Support Perform ad-hoc reporting, including surveys required by regulatory authorities.
  • Maintaining compliance with the UAE regulatory requirements related to Finance in coordination Accounts manager and Manger Finance.
  • Maintaining good business relationship with all key stakeholders from UAE operations standpoint.

Finance Business Partnering

  • Act as a Finance business partner to the operations team, claims and retail team providing financial insights to support decision-making and operational improvements.
  • Collaborate within the team with Finance Managers in branch operations on operational topics like inter branch and intercompany reconciliation.
  • Ensure support for all control function requirements of internal audit, risk management, IT Security and compliance.
  • Prepare management reports and financial dashboards providing insights to SFM and HFC on refunds, payment processing and other operational activities.

Minimum requirements of role
