Finance Manager (Retail Industry)

Guildhall is seeking a dynamic and strategic Finance Manager to join our client's growing retail/fashion business. This is a foundational role that will be responsible for establishing the entire finance function from the ground up, including systems, processes, compliance, and financial planning. The ideal candidate will be both hands-on and strategic, with experience in retail or fashion environments.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Set up and lead the full finance function such as accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting and controls
2. Develop and implement financial policies, internal controls, and accounting systems
3. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management
4. Manage cash flow, working capital, and supplier payments
5. Handle inventory accounting and cost of sales analysis
6. Collaborate with operations, retail, and merchandising teams to support business decisions
7. Ensure VAT/tax compliance and liaise with external auditors and regulatory authorities
8. Build and lead a small finance team as the business grows
9. Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/ACCA is a plus)
2. 6+ years of progressive finance experience, preferably in retail or fashion
3. Proven experience in setting up or transforming a finance department
4. Strong knowledge of ERP/accounting software and financial modeling
5. Detail-oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
6. Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
7. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
8. Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
