Qualifications

  • Handle revenue and cost booking in LRP.
  • Finalize monthly SOA with agents and reconcile accounts.
  • Prepare tax transaction reports for quarterly filings.

Role - Finance Executive

Job Location: Dubai

House of Shipping provides business consultancy and advisory services for Shipping & Logistics companies. House of Shipping's commitment to their customers begins with developing an understanding of their business fundamentals.

Currently House of Shipping is recruiting for Finance Executive on behalf of a client in Dubai.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Handle with 3P agents’ revenue and cost booking in LRP.
  • Finalise monthly SOA with agents and reconcile accounts receivable for agents and customers.
  • Send fortnightly SOA (Statement of Accounts) to agents and follow up for collections.
  • Spot accounting errors and suggest ways to improve process efficiency and cost management.
  • Prepare and review slot cost provisions to ensure an accurate impact on voyage costing.
  • Prepare tax transaction reports to support quarterly tax return filing.
  • Prepare and submit VAT/TAX refunds to the FTA.
  • Assist with both internal and external tax audits to ensure compliance.
  • Support the month-end and year-end closing process.
  • Analyze financial information and summarize the financial status.
  • Recommend improvements to accounting systems and procedures.

Required Background and Academic Credentials

  • Minimum 2 + years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping, preferably within a Shipping/NVOCC environment.
  • Excellent working knowledge of ERP systems and its relevance to the shipping/NVOCC business.
  • General understanding of container movement, trade lanes, port operations, and pricing.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of IFRS and UAE VAT/TAX regulations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field
  • Hands on Knowledge of ERP systems and Advanced Excel
